Language plays a vital role in shaping how tourism destinations are projected and perceived. From promotional materials to on-site information, the language of tourism influences visitor behaviour, expectations, and satisfaction, and also the narrative of the space promoted as a tourist destination.
TourCT (Tourism Communication and Translation) is an international research network dedicated to exploring the role of language and translation in tourism. It aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse fields to explore what tourism communication within and across languages looks like and how it can be improved to benefit destinations.
